The first method that I am going to be discussing with you is the method of using home products to whiten your teeth. This has become a very popular method as it is cheap and extremely easy to do. Ok well this is a very obvious method to use, and it is the old fashioned way by going to the dentist. Now what is expected when going to the dentist, to get your teeth whitened? Well to start of it’s not very cheep so be prepared to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars, on getting your teeth whitened at the dentist. Ok so how do they do it? Well they usually will use a bleaching agent such as hydrogen peroxide, or even carbamide peroxide. They will start of by cleaning the teeth using a polisher or a grainy material, used to remove any plaque on the surface of the tooth. They will then need to keep your mouth dry by using gauze and retractors, to keep your tongue and cheeks from touching the teeth. They will now apply the bleaching agent to your teeth, and use a laser to cure the peroxide. This procedure usually takes about 60 minuets to complete. Once they are finished they will make you rinse out your mouth with fluoride rinse, to help prevent any sensitivity. After undergoing this procedure they will ask that for the next 24 hour’s you keep away from Coffee, Tea, Tobacco, Red wine or any type of foods or drinks that could stain your teeth.
